Last trip on the ol' Mech

Jadon and I took a float on 9/4/19.  Caught five eyes and shot a couple early geese.  Was a great trip and was glad to have some time before he goes to basic training.  These geese were bagged after we spotted them far off in a logan.  Jadon duck walked about 30 yds through 3 ft high grass.  Pretty funny.

Fall bringing changes

Jadon off to the Air Force and kids back to school.

Misc end of summer

Went on an overnight with the little people.  Had to excavate sand and build up a site at the snag hole.  Caught one walleye.  Did not fish hard at all however.  Kids really enjoyed the overnight.  Highlights were starting their own fires and swimming with many minnows.  They brought home a crayfish.
Water level dropped over two feet in three weeks (last three weeks of August)

One of the best campsites in the world IMO

Every 8 year old should have the experience of running a 65 horse two-stroke Suzuki tiller on the Mississippi River

The greatest joy is seeing your kids smile.  This one was taken on Chase during a quick evening getaway.

St. Paul/Mnpls Trip

Took in a Twins game vs Cleveland (last game of a 4 game series).  Taylor Rodgers gave up a grand slam to Carlos Santana in the top of the 10th to lose the game.  Kids had fun.  Grandparents attended as well.  Next day we went to the Science museum (stayed at The St. Paul hotel in downtown SP) and then checked out MOA in the afternoon.  Could have used more time at both.  Kids had fun.

Jay Cooke State Park

Great park not too far away.  Alot of free walking on rocks and exploring.  Bridge was neat.  We went on a weekday and there were not that many people.  Should have a whole day to explore.  Did not get a picture of the falls unfortunately.  They are neat as are some of the scenic overlooks.
