Jadon worked on his car with not alot of enthusiasm this year, I think because he didn't really know what it was leading up to. Tonight we went to the Pinewoodrow Derby and he got to see what all the fuss was about. Jadon cut the seat out, painted the car and helped me put the wheels in. The derby was fun. 24 kids, excited to see there cars finish 1st - some cars didn't' finish at all...a couple kids were crying. Jadon pulled a 1st in one heat, and a couple 3rds and a 2nd. He ended up getting 8/24. Smooth guy that I am, I forgot to bring the camera to the derby, so we took some pics when we got home. (I had a friend take some pics - soon to come.) It was good experience and Jadon says it was, "really good".

Is hiding quarters in the car the Pinewood Derby equivalent of a corked bat?
They rules allow a max weight of 5 oz. We didn't have an accurate scale so I thought quarters would work well for game-day adjustments.
