Jadon is now 8. We celebrated on Saturday. Ate some frosting and ice cream. Had some good friends over. Camera was not out much.

TIp up Fishing

Drilled 12-15 holes by hand.



Jadon and I went tip-up fishing 'round here. We spent the day out on the lake and it was beautiful. We tried both sides of the lake - we walked the entire perimeter of the lake. Got a tip-up right away...watched it run for a while (very exciting for Jadon) and caught a little pike (no pictures of any fish because they were released immediately). Had one rob a minnow and caught and released another one later. Little disappointed that the flags weren't flying more frequently. Both fish were sligthly peppered with worms? Little black spots.

While people congregated at a local fishing/drinking contest, I opted to own a lake for day with a good friend. Got a bit of a late start, but it was good times. Set some tip ups, sprinted towards upright flags, gaffed some brats, cringed at the smell of rank-ass sauerkraut - all amounting to a good day outside with ol' Esox. Got to check out the stomach contents of a couple small pike. Seems they're having no problem finding chum.
