This last weekend J and I took a trip with Grandma G-G and Grandma Lin to Roch. Great ride in the car highlighted by stories and wisdom from both Grandmas. Four generations in one car. On Saturday we played some catch in the backyard and got some sweet action photos. Check 'em out...

Deer River Derby

Jadon worked on his car with not alot of enthusiasm this year, I think because he didn't really know what it was leading up to. Tonight we went to the Pinewoodrow Derby and he got to see what all the fuss was about. Jadon cut the seat out, painted the car and helped me put the wheels in. The derby was fun. 24 kids, excited to see there cars finish 1st - some cars didn't' finish at all...a couple kids were crying. Jadon pulled a 1st in one heat, and a couple 3rds and a 2nd. He ended up getting 8/24. Smooth guy that I am, I forgot to bring the camera to the derby, so we took some pics when we got home. (I had a friend take some pics - soon to come.) It was good experience and Jadon says it was, "really good".

Getting Pounded

Sunday the 6th of April the forecast said 9-12 inches. We got hit in Deer River with about 2 feet of snow. We shoveled and watched people drive by with plows. Now, a week later, half that snow is gone with another load expected tonight.

Tiger Cubs

Jadon has been busy with Tiger Cubs all year. A couple of months ago he had a snow sled derby which required him to make a custom sled. He chose spikes and a deer tail. Everyone got an award for participating. On April 11th he has his first pine wood derby. Pictured is the practice car that he built.

Jadon celebrated his 7th birthday a couple of weeks ago. It seemed to be a success. There were 11 kids in attendance. Mostly boys from his class. Dad had the cake special ordered from the local bakery. The kids swam, ate, swam, opened presents and swam. Jadon had some buds over afterwards and they roasted wennies out back.

Toothless Jadon

We'll start with Jadon at age 7. He's lost 4 teeth in the last month....seems to fit right in 'round here. He's developed a bit of a lisp. Now the challenge is to take care of the permanents.
